ColorDesk PIXdotCOM

office suite component

"COPY"

Defunct company under the umbrella of color fidelity experts at the Efi company, eventually called pixdotcom before quietly folding in the late 1990's. Think of what they were doing as a proto-iPhoto with it's fingers in your office gear pushing buttons and linking functions together

This was one of several modules from a productivity suite stitching together various office equipment with a software glue.

It's genesys was in the printing and scanning expertise of the Electronics For Imaging color system, EFI. COPY allowed users to configure scanners and printers as an automated high fidelity cop stand using normally separate and isolated equipment regularly found in modern office settings.

It is meant to emulate the touch screen of a copy machine and draws it's inspiration straight from my student days working as a lowly copy-puppy at Kinko's uptown, New Orleans, LA.
