"Timogen Studio "

Timogen requested assistance "jazzing up" the user interface icons for their java based forms construction kit for online commerce and information management.

This was a light job working with abstract symbols within an already established interface and process flow. The engineering department approved a design effort that would not affect any core functionality, but would add "freshness" to the tool.
This job was more about adding blush and eyeliner rather than a nip-and-tuck cosmetic surgery.

Form and Function set about developing a simple visual icon vocabulary to convey abstract database and information technology concepts.

The object oriented nature of information flow and database work lent itself to colorful 3d eye-candy to represent the often-obtuse elements.
Container variations...

Technically, the requirements were simple and had to adhere to Java user guidelines. It was determined the height could not increase beyond 24 pixels, but there was no reason we couldn't widen each icon to 40 pixels.
There were no restrictions on color depth.
There was no deadline other than late summer/fall.

This did not negate our work and Form + Function continued to produce...

Finally, Timogen cancelled the project in November - apparently victim of the dot-com bust.
